1991 Portable Kenmore washer
This is my 1991 direct-drive portable Kenmore washer that I bought used last weekend. I just replaced the agitator dogs, so it’s now working perfectly. The dogs were easy to replace and only cost about $5. This machine shares considerable parts with much larger washers and seems quite overbuilt. It’s much heavier than new portable washers. This was about the last year of the American-made direct-drive portables from Kenmore/Whirlpool
I edited this video for length. The first part shows the wash speed on “Heavy Soil.” After a couple minutes, the dial moves to “Regular Soil” and the agitation slows down, I briefly showed the slower agitation speed. I cut most of the wash cycle out to show the first spin.

Maytag Centennial Washer Washing Machine Blues
This is my new maytag centennial washing machine. When this washer spins it functions like no other I have had. It actually shook so hard and rattled so hard that it knocked a bottle of laundry soap off my dryer the other day and broke it open. What a mess! Not a happy customer with this maytag purchase. I don’t understand why I keep getting told by repair man that my floor is moving. My reliable old washer sat in one place for years on the same non-moving floor. Nothing about this product has gave me customer satisfaction.

Phillips Electra 1980`s Washing Machine “Spin Drain”
This is a 1980`s Electricity Board Special Washing Machine, the Electra AWB665, made by Phillips in Hipperholme, Halifax,UK. Very popular machines featuring a Polypropelyne outer Drum and a Permanant Magnet Motor (Permag) which at the time had 10yr guarantees…!!!
This model takes a 9lb load & has an 800rpm variable spin speed. its other unique feature was that it started to spin with the tub full of water…this cushioned the clothes and distributed them evenly around the drum, the motor used permanant magnets instead of brushes etc was about half the size of other motors produced at that time.

Miele With Drum Lights.m4v
Random shots with the Miele washer and dryer at night. I dropped my flashlight (used for looking in the washer drum) into the laundry hamper, which made the cool looking light patterns on the units. Had to take some pics and wanted to share. My youngest son Alex appearing in a few shots, hes a lot like Dad and likes the new washer and dryer.
